Bringing an analytical approach,  we work alongside communities to make change happen

Engaging with community leaders, we typically work with a community across a 6-18 month period to help them manage change more effectively.

First we conduct a LifeMapping baseline to collect stories from the community; then periodically we repeat this process to see how they are progressing.

With insight from our analysis of community stories, leaders see how and where they can take actions. They can develop effective change strategies and allocate resources to have the most impact on achieving their social and financial outcomes.

We are in the early stages of our discussions with community leaders; here are examples of the types of change projects where we plan to use LifeMapping.

Supporting refugee entrepreneurs in Turkey

With over 2 million refugees in Turkey managing change is a major challenge for the refugees themselves and for the wider community. LifeMapping is being used to help individuals manage change in their lives while they participate in programs to develop entrepreneurial skills and capabilities. We work with leaders to ensure participants have the support needed to increase self-reliance and a sense of purpose; and integrate into the wider community.

Engaging unemployed young people in UK

Unemployment not only takes away opportunities from young people, it also robs them of their self-confidence. LifeMapping is being used with unemployed and disadvantaged youth groups in London to help build self-confidence while they build up their skill sets. Using the insights, individuals gain a better picture of what is needed and where to focus their efforts; community leaders can see where actions and interventions are needed in their programs to be successful.

Supporting women's saving groups in India

Women’s Savings Groups are vital part of village life for many of India’s poorest communities, providing financial assistance in the form of loans to their members when unexpected change – particularly medical emergencies – take place. LifeMapping is being used to help women gain insights into the critical success factors in group decision making that lead to better investment decisions and to track progress as change takes place.

Helping spinal patents 'bounce back' in Australia

A spinal injury confronts not only the person involved, but also their families and friends with the need to change. It happens fast and it takes time for everyone to adjust to the situation. It is not an easy process to manage. LifeMapping is being used to help those impacted by spinal injury to build greater resilience, 'bounce back' and get their lives back on track.
